I don't really care if somebody ships Zutara or not. But if you ship Kataang as anything but the creepy obsessive thing it was, I can't help but think less of you as a person (and be slightly afraid of you). That relationship is Twilight levels of Fucked Up And Wrong, and its fans are by and large about as retarded.

I mostly see it as "Uh, she's a mother figure to him, he seems to be pressuring her, and they never really talk it out?" So it's not perfect, but I don't really see how it's Twilight Levels of Wrong. It's not like Aang watches her sleep or falls in love with her unborn baby.

Aang struck me with the same obsessive creeper vibe that Edward does, even if he doesn't necessarily display the same behavior. It was the whole "I'm willing to risk (and save) the entire world for one person" thing, plus that infamous scene in EIP where he basically chewed her out for daring to not be 100% certain of her feelings about him. Give him time, and I don't doubt his sparkles would make Edward jealous.

That, and it was presented as this sweet, wholesome, perfect romance. When it's so obviously the farthest thing from.

They're just kids. Everything means ZOMG THE WORLD when it's your first love and many ships are praised for how one character values another more than saving whatever.

In East Island Players I don't think he should have pressured her like he did, it was bad and I cringe everytime I watch that scene but he was probably confused and messed up by her not being as sure he was about it and thought the kiss would somehow make it better. He messed up yes but it was an understandable mistake from a boy under pressure dealing with his first big crush.
