This confuses the hell out of me. lol Maybe Spock's off limits for everyone but Uhura?

IT'S BECAUSE IF UHURA IS FUCKING EVERYONE, THAT SHOWS HER BAMFNESS AND PROUD BLACK HERITAGE OVER THE WHITE MAN ignoring the fact that hey! There are other ethnicities which are just accepted by the fandom, without having to be shoved down your throat and Spock = "white man", Spock = "white Vulcan, BUT IF ANYONE TAKES HER MAN THAT'S RACIST BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO LOVE THE BLACK WOMAN FOR BEING BLACK AND FOR NOTHING ELSE BECAUSE SHE IS BLACK.

I think a fair amount of people are using Uhura as a proxy to get into ZQ's Spock's pants. And they can't self insert as easily if Spock is paired with McCoy or whoever.

If it were only that, I could live with it cause for most het pairings, there's always a fair amount of self-inserting cause like they all have a crush on the guy. (the worst is Harry/Ginny)

But the constant glorifying of Uhura to the point where she has no faults and that every man in the fucking universe wants to be with her (as if there are no other women) is just too much.

IA, and I normally don't limit myself to just one pairing and that "everyone is in lust lurve with Uhura, but only Spock REALLY, REALLY LOVES HER" trope is getting stupid.

Bella from the books is pretty much already a self-insert.

I just think, you know, there are other women in this universe and there's no reason to have every man falling all over Uhura. I mean the movie itself didn't suggest anything like that. They had Kirk casually hit on her in one scene (cause he's Kirk and he'll hit on anything) and then her relationship with Spock. She's not even on the radar for anyone else. Where are all these writers getting this idea that every man is in love with her? Whenever I see that kind of thing (which I do see in other Uhura/___ ships a lot too), it just reeks of Mary Sue.
