I got so excited over seeing a Vlogbrothers secret.

I've had that happen before. I saw a guy with a Chewie-Solo 2012 shirt, but I didn't flash the Nerdfighter sign. I felt kind of sad about it.

Sorry, anon. But I give you kudos for responding the the initial nerdfighter sign. I'm torn between wanting to wear something nerdfightery or putting DFTBA on my license plate, but I don't because I'm afraid I'd just entirely shut down and forget that I actually know how to think and speak should anybody notice. Which is weird because...I really want somebody to notice.

I haven't the faintest clue about the fandom, but...



My first reaction, seeing the block of text there, was "Oh great, another self-important and loquacious secret. Guess I'll soldier through their thoughts on yaoi somehow."
The actual secret brought me to tears.

I know, it's kind of fucking pathetic for me to release my salty tears of sadness for an anonymous poster on the Internet, but you know what? I don't care. I'm not trying to hammer in how sad the OP's life is or anything, but the way they express their remorse at never seeing their potential friend again hit me, hard. I hope more than anything that the poster can get help that works with their problems because not only do they not deserve what's going on their life, they can work through it. I know you can do it, anon.

I feel for you, OP. I'm going through similar extreme anxiety + school issues myself. Nerdfighters are a pretty interconnected group though, so maybe possibly you can find this guy again.
