I do touch on that. Or I intended to. It is obvious she's intended to be a "Hollywood Indian" (as opposed to a real native American).

(Anonymous) 2010-03-29 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)Would you say she's a deliberate parody of the concept of the 'Hollywood Indian', or is she simply an example of that character type? If it's the latter, I'd say that's still offensive, as a 'Hollywood Indian' is a stereotypical representation of a member of a real race. She may have been intended to be stereotypical, but that doesn't mean that her being stereotypical isn't a problem.
That said, I don't think the secret-maker needs to worry at all; if a work has problematic elements, that doesn't necessarily mean that the work as a whole should be dismissed.
