Washington's such a cool state, too! It really peeves me when people mix us up with DC, though. I mean, if you're talking about DC, say Washington DC! Opposite ends of the continent, guys, seriously.

What really gets me is that apparently they were originally going to name it Columbia, but decided that it would be confused with the District of Columbia. So they... named it Washington instead. I don't follow the logic there. :P

Except, I get really bitchy about the geography. Mapquest that shit, people. It's so easy. SMeyer, you can also take a lesson from this. Forks is NOT a fifteen minute drive to Port Angeles, and she totally missed the opportunity to give props to the most gorgeous lake (I think) in the US, Lake Crescent. I drive up to the shoulder and go swimming in it whenever it gets warm. *clings to Washington*

I actually haven't read any fics that take place there because I'm mostly in anime fandoms but I'm sure I would squee if I saw one. And does anyone else find that "Twilight in Forks!" DVD they're selling sort of hilarious? I haven't seen it but it's some sort of bonus gift like Forks is a totally magical place or something. I am pretty sure there are no sparkling vampires there.
