I'm glad you're still enjoying it, but really you're going to have some issues with Buffy for the rest of the seasons if you don't like the title character.

Might as well drop it.

I love that series, I met some of my best friends through its fandom, and we all hate Buffy. I can't stand her, but I think the show has so many saving graces that it pays off.

So in short, I say don't drop it, and you're definitely not alone in that opinion.

I never really liked Buffy all that much, and neither did anyone I watched it with. Er, well we were annoyed with her until Dawn came along and became the object of scorn. It was a bit of a love to hate thing.

Both my sister and I hated Buffy also. I always blamed it on Sarah Michelle Gellar. TBH, I always thought SMG would've made a better Cordelia.

lol, I am the same way about both. But to be fair, I think a large part of that is that they are both 'tragic' in a lot of ways and since they're the title character, we have to listen to them whine a lot more than any of the other characters who MIGHT whine in equal amounts, we just don't see it as much. And,I guess, watching them mature also has a bigger payoff when you realize they've grown and they're not so annoying anymore. But yeah, I think protagonists often suffer from a general dislike from the fandom - they have to be exciting enough that the plot happens around them to hook us in early, but the subtler and more touching moments tend to come from the characters that aren't the Chosen One, because they often have more humility and are easier to relate to. Still, put the spotlight on anyone and pretty soon they start irritating people, so I don't think Buffy or Harry ever had a chance in that regard, lol.

Ha, yes, that's very true too. I always think it's funny when Dan Radcliffe talks about how he's like Harry because they're both curious, because I always thought Harry wasn't curious about much of anything. I would, however, call Harry 'nosy', as the things he's curious about tend to be the personal business of other people, particularly those that don't like him. But he's not curious about anything else, and he chooses to work (though he limits the effort put into most things anyway) only at things he already has a natural gift in, like Quidditch and DADA. He doesn't seem interested in anything else :\

Nah, lots of people dislike Buffy. *Particularly* in the middle of the series, where she was a complete bitch. Just keep going with it. It is worth it :)

I think she could still enjoy it. I started watching for Spike and kept watching for him as well as Willow, Tara, and Xander. It's not that I really hate Buffy I just ...don't really care about her one way or the other. I don't really get all the love she still gets, although I assume it's the 'petite blond chick kicking ass' thing.

's only gonna get worse, beb! I choose to ignore anything post-high school, cos the show became a completely different animal and I've still never forgiven what was once my favorite show ever for doing that to me :(
