Every single general/UC Gundam community I've been in over time has ended up chock-full of drama and wank (along with a whole lot of sexism towards women), and I've been loath to return to the fandom because of that because many of those same people are still around and haven't exactly changed. I'm hoping you're willing to share where this community is, if only because I'd like to see for myself if it's really as nice as you say it is.

125. That's kind of how I feel as well. Just because Avatar is strongly influenced by those cultures doesn't mean the people there are necessarily going to be of those races, especially since it's an alternate world where places like Asia don't even exist. And I really hate that I'm probably going to be called racist for my remarks, even though I'm really not.

That's not, I think, what the OP means. I think he/she/it means that Suki seems white, not the whole cast.

Why do you think she's white though? Her looks? Since that's the only reason I can find that someone would think she'd be white.

(And I don't mean to sound accusatory! I know it's rare to have a civil discussion in the Avatar fandom but I honestly would liked to know your views on this since I'm stumped!)

Okay, personally, I think it's the colouring. Her hair and skin are coloured in a way that suggest that she's white to me. I dunno o.O;.

Do you mind explaining why you think Suki is white? Honestly, as much you want people to "get it", how can you expect them to when you don't explain or...like the OP of 125, cry about "zomg see no one gets it! See see see?!"

My culture is not a damn fantasy, and I'm sick and tired of people treating it like it just sprang up out of nowhere. If you're using my culture, you gotta take the people with it. If not, why don't we just lose all the Asian the martial arts, the costumes, architecture, religions, behaviors, weaponry, and all the character names and see how much of "Airbender" you've got left after that?

How about you try reading what they actually said before you start making accusations.

So far I have come across no wank in all my time there and have made many UC friends. Especially at UC Porn. XD

I'm sorry about your experience, though. You probably came across UC elitists who get their panties in a knot if you joke about the UC. I know someone like that in RL who is just an asshole in general, and he actually thinks everything in the UC is terrible except Stardust Memory. He tries to be so serious about it and gets my best friend and I - who love to crack!UC Roleplay characters - in a bad mood with his cynical, serious bullshit.

But those communities welcome fun! So, erm yeah. You might be surprised. :)
