This. I mean, I just don't see it. Zoe is a kickass character and someone who I'd see as a role model. The only other thing I can think of is Jubal Early, if they're trying to say 'HE USED THE SCARY BLACK MAN TROPE OH NOES' and he was only one example in one episode that most people didn't even see. I just don't understand the fen who are carrying on like Joss Whedon is the next Frank Miller or whatever. They ought to go fight real examples of racefail/genderfail in their real-world communities and stop crying about things they see on tv and the internet.

there's the bit where the universe is a union of China and America (iirc) and yet there are pretty much no Asian people at all, maybe that's what they're talking about.

Yeah, that at least is a little disconcerting. But eh, who knows. Maybe if the show had gone on that little discrepancy would've been rectified and we'd have seen more Chinese people on the show, hopefully not ones selling dog meat like in that one episode.
