5. As a huge Cid fan, yeah, he treated her like dirt and did pretty much verbally abuse her, I have no illusions about that, but I found her just as much at fault in the fact that she just took it and never stood up for herself, which, IMHO, made her a pretty damn uninteresting character. I mean, yeah, she saved Cid's life, but she did it in such a way that she was knowingly putting him in a position where he had to either throw her life away or throw his life-long dream away (and since he is a good person at heart, he did choose her life) without any warning at all, and... yeah, the woman has issues. (Why not just tell him right before the liftoff?)
Cid does make a big turnaround at the end of his plot arc, though, so I think it's really unfair of you to think he's this abuse-all wifebeater, wtf. I mean, I like Vincent/Cid, not because I think it has canon evidence, but because I think it makes for an interesting relationship, and I'm not rabid about it or anything, but I don't think Vincent would have to "fight back," because although Cid is a crude and crass individual, the only person we seem him actually abuse in the entire game is Shera, and there's a whole shitload of backstory and reason for that. Not an excuse on his part, but a reason, and he certainly realizes his error in the end, so your implying that he's this asshole with no redeeming qualities is completely inaccurate.
All of that said, yeah, I dislike Cid/Shera as well, not because I sympathize with Shera and not because I hate her, but because they do have that complicated and emotionally-scarred history and because I don't think the dynamic is all that interesting. More than the fact that I hate how Compilation made it canon, I hate how they portray it as yayayayaypairing without any kind of realistic time in-between them being in a dysfunctional relationship and them being... a yayayayaypairing. Makes things concrete that are completely out-of-character and basically turns Cid into a caricature.

12. I LOVE YOU. I mean, I don't know if there's any Compilation basis for this, but my friend and I did a crack one-on-one Rufus/Reeve roleplay a while back and... IT WAS AWESOME.
