Grr! I am not going to be able to get this thought out of my head now! (Even though I'm nearly 20 years younger than RDJ, and that doesn't stop me from thinking he's crazy-hot.)

It's a matter of perspective, actually. 65 years spent frozen is still 65 years. I'm just saying, if the OP finds it such a distraction, they can just think of it in a different way.

Would it be squicky if say, you shipped Black Widow/Iron Man? I'm just curious if this isn't misplaced Chris Evans rage or if its slash specific, or if its just an age gap squick.

I don't ship Black Widow and Iron Man (I find her annoying and a bit overbearing, both in the movie and comic version)
And I'm happy with Chris Evans as Cap. It's just...that age difference.

To be fair, Tony is kinda played like a manchild in the movies, anyways. They're pretty much coming-of-age tales, where he learns to grow up, take responsibility for his actions, do the right thing, etc. etc.

But with a cool robot suit.

THIS. I wasn't too happy with the casting at first, but once you imagine Chris Evans and RDJ getting it on, the world really does become a better, happier place.

Captain America will always be Aaron Eckhart in my head, and I ship him madly with RDJ's Iron Man. But yeah, I honestly think the new guy is gonna look like he is RDJ's kid or something (Batman and Robin anyone?), and I don't find that very shippable.

I still wish Chris didn't get the role... and it's not that I don't like him in general as an actor because I think he does great comedic relief. But ever since Human Target Mark Valley will forever be my Cap... especially paired up against RDJ.

If they had done this movie 10 years ago, Mark Valley would've been a shoo-in for it, but now he's "too old" for the target audience and not enough of star like RDJ to get the role despite that. It's a shame, he would've been great.
