I don't think you're being unfair, OP. It's always kinda creepy when a friend tries to glom onto/take over aspects of your personality or self-image or whatever. Plus, you know, your friend flat out lying to other people is a bad sign.

Ok, see I never get secrets like this, how can you introduce someone to the entirety of fandom, there are like infinite fandoms. Were they living under a rock before they met you? If they were watching films or TV or playing video games or what have you and enjoying them and talking about them, then that kind of would be participating in fandom in some way. I mean is this secret talking about a specific fandom cause it just keeps saying fandom like it’s a general thing.

Same thing happened to me- except my friend was aware the fandom existed before(seeing as it's pretty fucking huge). She considers herself as big a fan as I am, and she hasn't even finished READING THE ENTIRE SERIES. Yet she reads AND WRITES fanfiction. It pisses me off to no end.
