We left handed people live in a world that is not made for us. See scissors, desks, water fountains, power tools, keys and door knobs for examples. I LOVE seeing that characters and actors I like are left handed.

I remember reading a comedic book on lefthandedness years ago... I am not even left-handed, it just happened to be lying around. To this day I find it interesting when I hear someone is left-handed.

Just out of curiosity, how do you feel when there's an animated character who's a lefty? Cuz with live action characters, it's often just that the actor is a lefty, so it's sort of by chance; but with animated characters, the person is intentionally drawn to have left handed.

So do I. I keep a running mental list of lefties, including the disproportionate number of US presidents.

I was also annoyed when they made Link from Legend of Zelda go right handed for the convenience of right handed Wii players after years of being awesomely lefty. I put up with everything from handwriting to my sewing machine being designed for righties. LEAVE US LINK!

Me too -- I think for the same reason I like seeing an actor's handwriting. It's a personal characteristic of the actor coming through the character that can't be hidden or changed (by most people).

My mom used to make me watch Seinfeld with her when I was a kid, and it was only after noticing both Jerry and George are lefties that I started to like them. :/

Definitely! I have a list in my head of left-handed fan people and I really care. I taught myself to write lefty just for fun, pre-fandom, so that's probably why it's so interesting to me. I'm also left-eyed for the purposes of shooting a gun.

Only 10% of the people are lefties, so it does feel special to find out a someone else, fictional or no, is lefthanded as well.

Interestingly, the photo used shows the way right-handed people receive Communion. We lefties are taught to hold our hands out the other way.
