...I kind of doubt it. We've had many secrets like that before, so it's hardly original trolling. Plus, I recently found out I might have Avoidant Personality Disorder, a component of which is using fantasy as escapism. Fandom is a huge gateway to that for me, and I know I spend a ton of time fantasizing and thinking about situations fictional characters find themselves in, particularly to live out emotions I feel I can't in real life, or as distraction.

Soon, I might be in OP's shoes, and I might have to severely cut back on my participation in fandom, to help get out of that habit and to begin... rewiring myself.

Up until now, I've always insisted involvement in fandom is fine, and can be healthy, and can be properly balanced with 'real life'. But in some cases, for some people, that balance isn't easily achieved.

I apologize for writing so much, but, well, yeah.
