I agree that fanon next generations like Gaang Jr. usually suck, but I still get just as amused by them (that one with Yue's cousin or something and the Kataang girl especially).

Regarding Gaang Jr, personally I think the project's kinda lost its spark. It was fun when it was just about wacky adventures and nobody thought much of it. It didn't help that the main artist and creator of the designs left for over a year to deal with real life shit, but I guess that happens.

It'd be nice if we could get some new stories or art to recaptured that innocence of the first pieces, but so far no one seems to be able to. The writers right now are good, but it just feels like they're missing something. I don't know what.

And yeah, the porn creeps me the fuck out too.

Why do those look like ripoffs of canon characters? Am I missing the point? Or am I right in assuming that most self insert Mary Sue... er OC creators have no originality and feel the need to steal an original design and alter it a bit? (please note I have seen this with Yugioh and Naruto as well).

They're supposed to be the Gaang's Spin-Offspring made by a much of bored anons at plus4chan. The premise is that they run away from home to have adventures cause their parents keep them too sheltered. Yeah we know it's a stupid and unoriginal premise but there were a couple of good stories that came out of it.

And the girl's arrow is painted on cause she's playing pretend!air nomad.
