Because apparently a secret has to be socially acceptable enough to not really have to be kept a secret before anyone will believe it.

No, it just needs to not be really out-there stupid. Think of it like we're giving these people the benefit of the doubt: Rather than believe they're really that bigoted/racist/homophobic/idiotic/ect we assume that they're joking.

What's wrong with wanting a story about something? Even as a disagreeing agnostic who couldn't care less if every church burned down tomorrow (preferably with no people inside), I recognize that "wanting fic" about two fictional adult characters doing something is hardly on the level of joining Fred Phelps on the picketing circuit. As desires go, this is pretty bland, IMO, and while it's not a fic I'd want to read, why call "troll" on something like this?

I mean, seriously. We can have incest and chan fic, but THIS is crossing the line?

I wasn't referring to the second part of the secret, I was talking about the first half. That half of the secret is bigoted and idiotic. Wanting fic is fine.
