I don't get particularly fussed about Nazi fetishes, but it does strike me as weird that uniform fetish almost always ends up being Nazi fetish. I mean, I get that HUGO BOSS unf unf unf, but why not gush over British WWI uniforms (DOSE SPATS)?

Nazis are often seen in the media, right? So people don't even have to go looking for anything else, they see a man in uniform - who just happens to be a nazi - and they find him hot, so due to their ignorance of other types of uniforms they come to prefer those. It could be something like that, I'm not sure.

tbh I get a little selfishly annoyed about it - the black SS uniforms everyone else gets hot for don't do it for me at all. I'd much prefer Doughboys, or the AIF uniforms, or if it /must/ be Nazis, the Afrika Korps uniforms. Just, no more black SS uniforms, please?

Someone on TF2chan claims that Valve has stated this. It has never been outright confirmed by Valve. Besides, it's a moot point now. I showed said thread to the mods and they said that I could keep his backstory as I originally wrote it.

Being that OP posted soon after I replied to you saying that it was, in fact, not about me, I feel a little foolish. I shouldn't have assumed -- I was just so sick of the whole affair that I let that get to me.

I will say that the insistence has to do with wanting to be seen as something other than a Nazi fetishist fanboy.
