YES. I love the way women look in men's suits, but for some reason I like it even better if they're not really trying to pass.

... actually, I wore a suit in a school musical once. My mother thought I was trying to tell her I was transgendered, when I really just wanted an excuse to wear a man's suit and hat and sing Luck Be a Lady. I'm no Marlene Dietrich, but god damn it was fun to pretend, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I only had the chance to.

There's something appealing about still being able to tell that a woman is biologically female, despite how she's dressed. (And there's a fabulous chapter of a book written on this if you're ever into feminist theory.)

I... I cannot resist. CHeck this clip out. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1nXq0oAyRE) Luck Be a Lady performed entirely by women in the Takarazuka theatre. Er, it's in Japanese but yeah. I salute you for doing that song! I love that musical anyway~~~ I got to dress like a guy for our community's pageant thing where high-ranking men did a crossdressed pageant and they needed girls to play their "men". It was fantastic fun! And at the same time, I'm not aspiring to a sex change or anything, but I enjoy performing aspects of the male gender sometimes. It's just... fun to be different I guess?

Which chapter of which book? That sounds interesting.

Judith Halberstam's Female Masculinity. The chapter on drag kings is really nice.
