(Anonymous) 2010-06-24 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)I know there are others that prefer S4 to S5 as well (and really I liked S1 best but S4 had a lot of potential and I hated how all of it was retconned in S5) but the vehemence against those who were let down by S5 has gotten really, really bad. It doesn't feel welcoming anymore so between that and my dislike of the canon, it feels like I don't have a place in Supernatural fandom anymore. Which is sad because I really loved it, this time last year. Anonmeme, canon, fandom, all of it.

I get that people want to move past the negative and look to the future, but telling people that their feelings about the end of season five are their own fault, implying that we're stupid for not being able to see the writers' intent (wasn't there just wank about intent being irrelevant) and that our feelings are not valid does not help the situation. Continually calling everyone butthurt just makes the whole environment hostile and not suitable for discussion all.
My feelings are valid, and my feelings, right now, are that the show is not worth watching after that train wreck. You'd think there'd be more people trying to help us rediscover our love instead of calling names and showing us the door.
Before someone jumps in and says Sam girls got the same treatment last season, they didn't get it from me or from my friends. We didn't do anything to be shown the door except express dissatisfaction with this season. Even writing this comment my chest is tight from being pushed aside and knowing that no one cares we're unhappy so long as they've made their peace with it. I really miss my show and being able to talk about my feelings without being labeled butthurt and told to GTFO.

(Anonymous) 2010-06-25 02:21 am (UTC)(link)I'm a little confused by this idea that everyone on the meme loved s5. I hang out on the meme all the time and honestly, people there bitch over every little aspect of s5 and in general seemed to hate the last couple of episodes of the season.
I'm sorry that you're feeling down about the show, but I'm surprised you missed all the comments from people who agree with you.
