Trust me, if my sister, who is 100% het and watches Lifetime all day can watch the movie for the first time, turn to me and go, "wtf is this?", then it's not solely about shipping, it's about what the writers went with.

So your point boils down to all het-shippers have the exact same taste and will swallow down whatever they're fed?

The fact that there is a HUGE FOLLOWING for Spock/Uhura (probably the biggest het-following I've seen outside of tweenie-aimed fanwork like Harry Potter and ALTA) counters the idea there's just something 'fundamentally wrong' with the writing.

Nooo, I was using my sister to make a point, that it's not just K/S shippers and that any kind of person can have a problem with the ship. You sure do make generalizations.
