No. I'm saying that the OP is making an idiotic assumption that all people who dislike the pairing are just fishing for excuses because secretly it's just because they ship something else. It's like the people who flail that "OMFG YOU HATE UHURA/SPOCK? YOU MUST BE A RACIST BASTARD!", there are more reasons to dislike the ship than on those grounds.

The comment at the beginning of this subthread is directed at the OP. The OP of the secret. Not you. (You continuing to act as though it was directed at you was like saying *you* were the OP [of the secret!] which would make you a hypocrite, which is what the comment you just responded to was addressing.)

I know these comment threads can get confusing, and your first mistake was understandable. But you determination to continue in this mistake, and to be completely unaware of what's happening around you, proves that you are, indeed, an idiot.

I knew right off the bat that the comment wasn't directed at me (how could it be?), I was simply thanking the anon for their input.

If you'd notice, I said in my second comment that it was clear to me that the comment wasn't directed at me, I was just happy that someone who wasn't following the fandom could see the flaw in the OP's logic.

When did I act like it was directed at me? The anon stated that they would take "whichever side [the OP is] not on". As I am arguing with the OP's secret, that indicates that the anon and I both held the same opinion of the OP. That is what I commented on. If you are too stupid to read and follow along, then that's fine.

The "people on the other side" of OP's argument are, specifically, Kirk/Spock shippers who claim that Spock/Uhura is terrible because

- Uhura emotionally attacked Spock in the turbolift (while Kirk emotionally attacked Spock on the bridge; hypocritical)

- Uhura will always have an incompatible need for emotion because she is human (while Kirk is also human; hypocritical)

- Uhura errantly tried to force Spock to face his emotions after the death of his mother (while Kirk laudibly forced Spock to face his emotions after the death of his mother; hypocritical).

You are grouping yourself with such fans. Ipso facto.

Maybe you're the one whose reading comprehension needs work? Because you seem to have just skimmed the secret and saw that it condemned K/Sers who hate S/U without noticing that it's specifying a certain subcategory?

Or maybe you just protesteth too much.

Actually, the people arguing against the OP are trying to prove that there are many more reasons for hating the pairing other than OMFG K/S COCKBLOCK! Which is what the secred is demanding ("Ship whatever you want, but just admit you don't like U/S because Uhura is cockblocking your ship")

Because several of those reasons are completely valid reasons to dislike the pairing without being a whiny shipper for something else. I think that yes, she was more of a bitchy love interest in the movie and yeah, I think one of the big reasons they wouldn't work romantically is that Uhura is too passionate for him. That doesn't mean I hate the pairing soley based on the fact that I ship Kirk/Spock or McCoy/Spock or Scotty/Spock or whatever the hell else.
