I'm kind of not surprised because there's so much praise for it, but still, I have better things to do with my time than devote myself to talking about something I don't like.

That said, I'm not a fan of the whole tragic romance trope, and find that thinking of it as a love story between Rick and Renault where Rick's ex girlfriend shows up and creates some chaos that Rick has to deal with and which pushes Rick and Renault to actually make a stand about the war instead of burying their heads in the sand is a more satisfying narrative for me personally.
