Dear OP, a couple of years agoI could have written the first part of your secret . I was lucky: there was nothing as big as my dreams on the line, although my friend was a big part of, well, everything I did, especially my writing.
It felt so wonderful talking to someone who understood what I was saying even when she disagreed with me, that sort of one-on-one exchange. I still miss those days - and all the characters who never got a developed storyline.
But I chose to get out - perhaps, in a way, my friend helped: she had starting distancing herself from me and everybody we knew.
I would have done it anyway: OP, it was so bad I couldn't write anymore. She never noticed and dismissed all the concerns I chose to share with her.
I can't tell you what to do, just...please, don't stop going to therapy. Hang in there, OP. It can't last forever. Perhaps you won't be the same when you come out at the other side but...it doesn't have to be a bad thing.
