While I've never actually met a ZQ fan who has held this view, I do unfortunately know a few people who don't like gay/bisexual characters but have no problem with violent, serial killer characters.

D: There is not enough facepalm in the world to express my disgust for those people.

They fail at logic.

Maybe part of the logic is that the serial killer they look at as very unrealistic and detached from reality (meanwhile they meet gay/bi people in real life), so they judge that character differently? (And obviously take into account them being homophobic.)

p.s. I remember watching the Smudge skit before I knew who Z.Q. was. I never realized it was him who played Smudge until long after I watched Star Trek.

It's an interesting fandom divided between people who think "okay, he's gay, no big deal, who gives a shit" and people who think "lalalalalalalalaLALALALALALALALALALALALA".

Oh, yeah, I've seen something like that: fans who claim to love ZQ, but refuse to believe or consider him being bi or gay. Kudos to you for the smackdown secret, and I love that you ship Sasan/Smudge. Now that I think about it, it could work, but I see them only being occasional fuckbuddies because Sasan would get tired of spending too much time with Smudge and hearing him go on and on about his bisexual fury.

Nah, Sasan/Smudge works awesomely well. I have fic. :|
