I was pretty much crying off and on for the last twenty minutes of TS3, so I know how you feel. Still, I'd probably see it again because it was good. Maybe if you talk to your friend about it, she'll understand?

For anyone finding the secret difficult to read:

"I was going to see this with a friend at midnight Thursday night. Unfortunately they had a commitment at the last minute so I went by myself. Now she wants to go see it with me properly. But the first time I saw it it left me so emotionally wrecked I don't know if I can watch it again.

Aww, OP. These things are made to be touching - if you go and tear up in the cinema, you could just laugh it off and I'm sure no one would think too much of it. I agree with an above commenter though; perhaps your friend will be understanding if you explain your reasons to her.

the first time I read this, I thought you meant that you can't watch it again because the second time around is just not going to be as special as the first time, and I was about to go... ME TOO!! I cried the first time but now that I know what's coming it's not going to be the same.

but I can see now that what you really meant was that it will probably have the same emotional toll on you it did the first time ): but hey! maybe you'll end up like me and watching it again won't have the same effect as the first time?

I was literally in the same boat as you, anon. I saw it opening night at midnight when I had already promised to see it with other people a few days later. The end left me in shambles, so badly I cried myself to sleep. I wasn't sure if i could watch it again.

But then about 6 days later I saw it again, with other people. Seeing it again really helped and now I'm not a wreck. It helped ALOT.

Just wanted to apologize for how crappy my secret looks - my Photoshop skills are teh suxxors :(

And for the record I did see it again with my friend and made it through - and it was just as if not even more awesome the second time around and I would totally see it a third time. Also my friend and I both commiserated over how hard we cried over the last 30 minutes.

B!S I am totally going to see Cars 2 just for the Toy Story short that will be in front of it.
