Oh, jfc. Get over it, OP. Any time I see secrets about how someone was "driven out of" a fandom, my ass begins to twitch. One single person does not "drive" another individual out of a fandom. Chances are, you were more than responsible for some bullshit or other, and people saw you and your poor behaviour for what it was. It's just easier to direct your attention on blaming someone else, rather than a) taking responsibility for your own actions and growing up, and b) getting a fucking life and not caring so much about FANDOM that you're actually holding this kind of a grudge on someone who you probably only knew through the internet/fandom.

So... caring enough about fandom to hold a grudge against someone for deliberately making it uncomfortable for you to participate because she doesn't like what you ship = pathetic.

Caring enough about a secret on f!s to judge the personality of someone you've never met = perfectly acceptable.

Yeah, uh, those two things are completely NOT on the same level. I don't care, OP. I don't know you, I just have an opinion, and that is neither the same thing as an "argument," nor is it the same thing as what your saying in your secret. It takes someone all of 5 minutes to respond to f!s. On the other hand you're admitting to carrying this drama around for extended periods of time enough to want to resort to physical violence. How is that at all healthy?

And if it was really because someone didn't like what you "ship", I'm sorry but that makes even less sense then your secret. So they don't like your "ship" - Why not just go play with the pairings YOU like and ignore them? They wouldn't be reading your shit anyway, right?

I was basically driven out of a fandom too...and it is exactly that...the FANDOM...meaning more than one person.

I'm not OP, but I have the same issue as losing a love for a certain series because of the fandom...I couldn't stand to look at anything of said series or read into it, because the FANDOM was just so horrible about it...not just one person.

You have to be stupid not know that people follow examples of strong voices...and if that strong voice happens to be an obnoxious bitch about everything, then the rest of the fandom will think it's okay to be an obnoxious bitch about everything that is not of their (the original decider) tastes.

Meh, I guess I just don't see why anyone would get themselves that invested. If the drama overshadows the love for whatever the fandom is for in the first place, I think you're probably more involved than is healthy, anyway. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.
