Eh, I think it depends on the fandom - for the eye thing I mean. If Harry Potter has anything other than green eyes in your fic and there isn't a reason for it, I'm not reading. Boy's eyes are mentioned every other paragraph in the canon.

The community overflows with repetitive rants, nitpicking, bitching over being "offended", hypocrites, cowards, dramawhores, trolls, and ranters crying "Dear Author, You don't write [insert character] correctly because omg he would never do that/say that. No love, bitchy ranter".

Too often I need to stop myself from typing STFU.

iawtc so hard

I've belonged to ffr for years and during the last year it's been falling apart. I left six months ago but it's on my watch list to this day and I skim it now and then. I don't feel comfortable walking on eggshells or fearing my writing will end up the butt of someones rant because I did one little thing wrong. ffr's given me panic attacks from seeing other members dogpiled. I can't handle it so I removed myself.

IKR like who cares if Roy Mustang's eyes are blue or black? Does that really matter? Shouldn't people worry about characterization or something?

(what annoys me is that, just watch an episode if you dont know. they're blue, it's clear in episode 13, that they're quite clearly dark blue)

Totally agreed, in theory it can help a lot for those who wish to improve their writing and needs tips on what not to do. But it's also discouraging to see rage over the tiniest things there.
