Because you with your mighty Google University degree have decided that all people who are aroused by fictional rape must be ignorant of how un-pretty real rape is? Sorry, self-righteous one, you don't have a clue. You wouldn't believe how many of us who have a kink for fictional rape have been on the receiving end of the genuine thing. (And of course, if you did ever find out how surprisingly frequent that is, instead of learning from your cognitive dissonance, you'd just stay on your high horse. "Obviously the only reason you could find fictional rape arousing when you know how bad the real thing is is that you're so badly damaged! As a victim of rape, I don't see how one can get off on it and still call it rape. At that point, doesn't it become consensual? As for my experience, I know it wasn't pretty. You just make yourself sound like an ass for calling some random person an internet know-it-all when you post an entire paragraph as to why he's wrong. If people enjoy rape fic, fine, but don't let those affected by the actual thing become caught in the crossfire.

How are people who don't want to read it caught in the crossfire?

Rape fic is generally labelled as such with warnings attached.

If you feel this secret should have had a trigger warning, that might be a valid point, but that does not appear to be remotely what you're arguing.

Why do some people have this need to create a crossfire, by trying to shame those who want to read different kinds of fic, or have different kind of fantasies, than they do?
