Shipping wank aside, I also had a similar fear of this, and found it to be true - my boyfriend didn't like the show as much as me. He was rather indifferent about it, and at the time it almost broke my heart.

But now? I don't mind. You're allowed to have your own thing, your own loves. You don't have to like all of the same things. So I don't think it's a big deal if he doesn't like it, or if he likes a different pairing than you (seriously). So don't worry too much.

First two points are understandable; it blows when you share something you're really passionate about with someone, and it's not received with as much enthusiasm as you anticipated. Just roll with it; if he likes it, great... if not, his loss.

But the last point? Meh. I'm a Zutara fan and I'm not bothered by Kataang. IT'S NOT SRS BZNESS.

Also I want to say that I've started watching the show with my BF, too. I wouldn't consider myself in the fandom, but I'm a fan of the show and he likes it for what it is so far.
