The smell of someone's skin is a big part of their attractiveness to a lot of folks (myself included!). Smell is such a primal sense, I'd say go ahead and talk about it in fic! It'll likely make it easier for your readers to get drawn in. Anybody who has a moderately-sharp sense of smell and has been physically close to someone they're attracted to will know what you're talking about.

Oh my GOD, I agree. It's one of my biggest turn-ons IRL and in fic. A lot of good fic/porn is in taking delight in the senses: paragraphs going on about taste or touch. I really don't know why so many people leave it out. I put it in occasionally as a minor detail because I didn't know so many people agreed and they might find me weird, too. Thank to this I'm going to include scent details more often. FOUR FOR YOU, ANON!

and this would be the second time in a week that i've been reminded of my first ex. *lol* omg, that boy had the most amazing scent. i remember one night where i discovered that, after spending the entire day at his house, my arms and the front of my shirt smelled like him. i just pulled the collar over my nose and rolled around like a cat on the 'nip. ^_^ poor boy was a bit paranoid after i confessed that i loved his scent, and i just couldn't get the words to describe how awesome it was. it makes me wonder if someone out there finds my scent to be just as fantastic.

On the one hand, I totally agree and that would be hot as hell. On the other, I've read fics where the authors attempted that, but having run out of good adjectives for people having a nice sexy people smell, they started just attributing scents to them at random, like a male cop smelling like flowery herbs and schoolboys smelling like pine forests and waterfalls and shit. And that was supposed to be their natural scent.

Done right though, I would very much like to read that.
