Being fair, I was...really angry when I submitted this, and vaguely regretted doing so the next day. It's the misogyny that bothers me, and the blind head-rammed-up-your-ass privilege; I've seen too many people use, and defend the use of, hate speech and it makes me ill. It's the sort of thing that only needs to happen once (which is why this is a secret. It's wanky and grudgy as fuck, and I know it), and I sorta wish I could forget and ignore it, but I can't.

Doesn't help that the fandom is pretty small, making avoiding individuals difficult to impossible, and I don't really trust the mods of the most of bigger comms to take the right side if/when issues come up. That's a big part of what makes this one feel worse, compared to other fandoms I've been in.

There are a lot of awesome people, people I like a lot, but that's not...enough. It's hard to have fun when I feel like I constantly have to brace myself against misogynistic/sexist/homophobic/generally fucked up bullshit, and I feel like I spend a lot of time doing that in DA fandom.

If any of that makes sense. It's basically a long, convoluted way of saying I'm ~sensitive~ and having many feelings.

I can understand that, but when I have an issue I bitch to the mods and it gets resolved. Except on BSN but I don't like that place anyway.

As a mod of some of the bigger comms, I would like to offer my assistance on how I can help the fandom gain trust in us and also defend others in fandom against hate speech. However, every time (and those times are few) that I see a problem the other mods get to it before I can manage it (in the comms I mod) or report it (in the ones I don't.) If there has been hate speech and other bullying going on that I am not aware of, it would help me greatly if you could inform me where I can look. Thank you.
