Of course not. But it sounds like it's coming up early enough that the stereotype gets in before you do, which makes me wonder why it's coming up that quickly. If this is happening with people who've known you for a while and then completely change their opinion once they realize where you're from, then no, that's obviously not the answer. Those people are douches.

Maybe because you come from comes up really easily? Like "There's a heat wave here in xxxx for the next week, kill me now," or it's just "Where are you from" is a really common question?
