It's a Southern city (HELLO URBAN SPRAWL), even if it isn't culturally in line with the Southern stereotype

Well, yeah, it's in the South. But it's not part of it. It was dropped there. Quite possibly by aliens.

Because holy shit - Atlanta and the rest of Georgia? Two different worlds, man.

I'm saying that there are some things about Atlanta that are still quintessentially Southern, if not stereotypically so.

It was really annoying when I went to college in Boston and people tried to tell me that there were parts of Connecticut that were "Southern" or that I was from the South (I hail from Southern Maryland - an extremely rural area but in no way considered by real Southerners anywhere near part of the South). Rural does not equal Southern, and urban does not equal not!Southern.
