PS, if I were you, I would buy manga and anime goods at a place called Book Off, which is a second hand store (though everything is in good condition.) You can get manga volumes at 100-200 yen a pop (much better than paying 500-1000 yen somewhere else) used video games, movies, CDs, and lots of good stuff like that. I don't consider myself part of the anime fandom at all, but even I still think it's a fun place to browse.

Sometimes when a party's winding down, my friends and I go down to the nearest one and play the "who can find the craziest shit for under 300 yen" game. We go in, set a timer for like 15 minutes, then go back and compare. I had the Japanese dub vhs of Batman and Robin, one girl found some horrible smooth jazz cd called SAX APPEAL, and one of our Japanese friends won by a landslide when he brought back some horrid S&M porn mag.. he nearly puked when we opened it up and found a page involving live eels 0_o
but, yeah, Book Off is good times.

of course, it's also a good place for some extra cash... one time my husband and i bicycled over two giant bags worth of books just taking up space... we walked out with 6000yen! Not bad!
