I've never thought about it and I guess in my head I always imagined 'fandom' as all these places around LJ where everything is in English. Is there are non English equivalents to fandomsecrets? Metafandom? ONTD comms?
Obviously fandom can't just be the hobby of people who speak English but...is that most of us?

I don't know in other languages, but not in Spanish, for example (the language in which the OP is watching this series), as far as I can tell, which saddens me greatly. I have so many telenovela pairings I want to discuss and see which characters would get slashed, etc., but I don't think Spanish-speaking fans approach the concept of "fandom" the way English-speaking fans do.
Actually, most Spanish-language discussion forums I have frequented for several shows have been impossible to navigate in terms of grammar or the general articulateness of the posters (and most discussions just dissolved into petty insults towards characters and people who love those characters). It's really baffling.
