Honestly I just kept him at the 8th spot, never used him, and generally just ignored his existence as much as possible. Sometimes do stupid voice overs for him.

This. I tried to overcome my hatred and train him up for the sake of having a black mage, but he was just too damn annoying.

So I contented myself with being mean to him whenever possible. XD

I can understand hating and never using a character (Regal, I'm looking at you), but putting them in the party when you don't fight well with them is just dumb.

Wouldn't that be really inefficient and stupid in boss battles? Unless you only played in the easier modes, then it wouldn't matter.

That doesn't sound very smart...I mean, if you're trying to play well.
But D: I love Genis. He and Zelos were my favorites and I used them every battle because I liked them and Genis' spells were funny. Presea, on the other hand...

It's all opinion, but for me, Presea was the best damn tank ever. She does need more practice and timing to play as than everyone else, save for Regal. They are both good as long as you don't button-mash. (The AI sucks at not button-mashing).

I realized that I don't take out out my dislike to characters if it's inefficient. Anyway, I think it's bit silly to put him in your just to die, but I guess it would be good for a few laughs *stares at Kratos*

Meh, I like Genis. His attacks are great and some of the end of battle scenes with him in it are really funny! :D

Colette? Yeah, not so much. I have days with Colette where I just want to throw her into a fire. My way of dealing? I don't use her. But, whatever makes you happy helps with the enjoyment of the game. :D

D'awwww, I found Genis thoroughly adorable and made him extremely powerful even if he was still never the best member of my party.

There wasn't a single Symphonia character I disliked, though. I suppose I found Zelos annoying...but then again, he was always my avatar in the towns so that I'd get all the freebies!
