I agree. It's rare when a writer can do that, but when they do...it just sticks with you. I finished a fanfiction like that months ago and I still think about it every day.

Yes, I agree. This sort of fic's hard to find, but it's definitely worth it. I have infinite amounts of love and respect for good writers.

OP, I was with you until the last line.

Now I kind of of think you are kind of a douche who thinks they are saying something completely revolutionary and mind-blowing when already several people that have already commented have also experienced the same exact thought process. (Though since this is a fandomsecret you may have had no idea people did, so I should reserve my judgment.)

But yes, I agree storytelling is an amazing thing sometimes, with your own creations or while borrowing the characters and situations of another.

As someone who always went for SRS EPIC SHIT, I have to say that's always been my goal. To me, there's no point in writing a story if I'm not trying to do that.

While I love that type of fic as a reader, I'm not above the occasional spot of humor or bit of fluff. Anything well written can be an enjoyable read for me. But deconstruction and reordering the universe? It's just how I operate as a fanfic writer.

That's actually happened to me a fair few times with fic. So no, I don't think it's crazy at all. It's just like watching a movie, reading a book, or listening to a song that ends up changing one's whole outlook on life, even if it's just for a minute, a day, whatever. Call it ~pretentious~ or weird or beautiful, but in the end I think almost everyone goes through that at least one point in his or her life.
