I mean, the way the Paz date was done didn't squick me because she wasn't as sexualised as I'd been expecting (and compared to how Kojima handled the BB Corp it was actually almost tasteful), but the 'Kaz was my favourite character until I found out he was a fag' crap on YouTube just makes me hate fanboy culture.
Homophobia aside, it's especially upsetting to me because the fact you get a choice between dating Kaz and Paz is one of the few intentional concessions to female gamers in the series. (Not that MGS isn't really girl-friendly insofar as games go, but I don't think Kojima ever has girls in mind when he writes it.) And so that just compounds homophobia and misogyny and makes me loathe everyone.
And the last thing that makes me rage is that it's not just on YouTube. I was checking a walkthrough for some info about the different outfits, and it had a really obnoxious comment about the Pink camo (http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2010/05/500x_pink_snake.jpg) that 'it should be worn by female soldiers only, unless Big Boss is on a date with Kaz'. In a walkthrough. What the hell.
