There isn't anything to be afraid of in the SPN fandom. There are SO MANY FUCKING COMMUNITIES it's not even funny, and tons have no Wincest in them either. Like everyone else said, check out ontd_spnparty and spnnewsletter is great for all kinds of references to fics, art, articles etc..

I just joined the fandom myself about two months ago, and I haven't had a bad experience yet! :D
