I assume the OP's referring to the community being a locked one, and the fact that members don't generally do foolish things like sending their porn to the presenters etc etc. Which is apparently a rarity in RPS fandoms these days, or something?

riiiight. okay, thanx for clearing that up for me (: i was a little confused, cause i'm in no way part of the tg fandom aside from watching it on tv and i am very aware of the fandom.

Good point, anon. Although as far as I can see, fandoms are often forced above ground by people not actually involved in the fandom. Like "oh hey, look what I stumbled across on the internet"... and then things get messy.

Anyway, back on-topic: Top Gear has a slash fandom? Really? Richard Hammond, yeah sure, but what else is there to ...?

JAMES MAY. :D Seriously, that man is so adorable and incredibly sexy in a dorky, understated way.

I would tell you all about how you start off going "Jeremy? Noooo" and then after a month or two in the fandom you're like "Jeremy! :DDD" and THEN at some point a werewolf/alpha romero bites you and then you're all "UNF UNF Jeremyyy" but I wouldn't want to frighten you. Some people seem to be immune to the Jezza-effect, though, so you might be safe.

Really though, the most awesome thing about the fandom is most people have their own favorite ship, but no one takes it too seriously.

Hell, I'm all about the Jeremy/James and am completely unattracted on any level to Richard Hammond, but I *like* him very much and so will happily slash him with the other two. And OT3's the best of all!

There's not even a bunch of crazies there that try to send porn to the presenters and are thwarted in their attempts, it just seems like everyone there actually has a brain and understands about discretion.
