lol Well, I've definitely noticed a drop in activity. I'm looking forward to the fests coming up, though! I miss my epic-length H/D stories. Most of the stuff being posted right now are short one-shots. :[

Yeah, most of the epic-length topics have been done to death. It's hard to come up with an original plotline that will keep readers' interests for 100k or more.

I don't have time to read epics, so I really love the shorter fics. I bookmark the long ones for "someday".

I love sooo many ships. I look for fanfics and fanarts about them for a day or two, and then forget about them, because I find another ship (sometimes in a completely different fandom) and I fall head over heels with it. And then another ship. And then another. Sometimes months later I go back to a ship, but I quickly find another one again. :I

I kind of envy you, because I feel bad sometimes about being so fickle and unfaithful to my ships, but I can't help it. D:

I get what you're saying, OP. H/D is the only ship I've ever been interested in in any fandom EVER. I love R/Hr but we got that in canon and I mostly feel no need to read fic. Also, HP is the only fandom I've ever loved enough to want to write for or be involved with in any way.

I don't know why this is. It makes me happy though, so I don't care. :D

I can relate to this. H/D was all I read for maybe a year or two, right after HBP came out. I've branched out into other fandoms since then, but I always end up coming back to H/D.

Oh man. H/D was probably my first big ship ever. I was in the fandom when the "classics" were being updated and still wonderfully new. I've gone through so many fandoms but every once in a while, I'll head back and check out what's new in the H/D stuff (It's so interesting to see the evolution!). That's the only ship I can read in HP.

I don't get Harry/Draco at all. I wish I did, because thers seem to love it but HP is one fandom where I find it difficult to ship main characters with anyone other than canon :|

I never shipped it, but looking back, there was quite a bit of subtext with Draco first reaching out to Harry in the first book, and then fixating on him for the next five books because he seemed to take Harry's rejection very personally, and then Harry obsessing over him in Book 6. So I get the basis for the pairing, but it never really did anything for me.

Haha this used to be me. I call it a phase but it was really long. I still read the occasional H/D fic but now not really that much because I've read so many already. But with H/D there's always more.
But I totally get you. I used to be really into H/D and I wouldn't read any other paring unless it was a second paring in a H/D fic.

The fanfiction for this pairing, made me strongly dislike HP/GW fics...it also part of what made me hate the epilogue of the last book, because I felt the ending should have been left more open ended...

I love this pairing!
