Yeah, it was pretty horrible but for some reason I enjoyed it. But the guys were so badly drawn it hurt to watch...

Oh God, Winx Club. I was way above the age group it's aimed for and could barely find any redeeming qualities, but I still watched this show regularly. I even have the dolls for Flora and Bloom (might have the DVDs somewhere, too).

I was never into Winx Club, but I understand what you mean. My fandom is dead; When it was alive it was full of stupid plotlines, questionable writing, and the fans were batshit. But to this day, years later I still love it (love/hate; I recognize how totally ridiculous it is) and write fic in my head all of the time. Don't feel bad anon; Maybe Winx Club has just become your little fandom security blanket, and that's nothing to be ashamed about. :)

The show is... stupid. I was never a fan.

But... I could sort of see the shape of some really awesome ideas and a potentially interesting world out there. It could have been so great, but it isn't. That sort of thing just keeps nagging at me.

Oh, and, I actually like Mirta. She could've been a great character with an interesting story arc, but as with everything else...

I kept watching for a while because I liked the idea. I mean, it's not original or anything, but I'm a sucker for fantasy-type settings. And there were so many interesting ideas...that just went nowhere, and they focused on too much of the dumb stuff. *shrugs* I know I wasn't the target demographic, but that's really no excuse to make something mediocre.

Ugh, I agree completely! I much preferred Mirta to the cliche "beautiful" versions of the good winx club girls.

The problem is that whenever they came up with a kickass storyline they fucked it up. Just look at season three. Awesome shit everywhere that went nowhere or got a half-assed resolution.

I feel the same way about W.I.T.C.H. I hate what the comics are these days, but I can't stop thinking about the characters and coming up with plots for fanfics in my head.

What happened to it?

How far did you follow it? I'm not sure what's going on in Italy at the moment, but in my country they've already reached the part where the comics no longer form sagas with a long plot and character development. Each issue is a separate story, and so far they have all taken place in Heatherfield and been more about the girls' boyfriend/family/school life than anything magical. It's like the comics are turning into a regular teenage drama story. I miss the magic, monsters and different universes.

LOL I still think the first arc (with Elyon or whatshername becoming queen of the magical world) was well written and while the art wasn't always great, it had it's moments. It's sad that most of the clones (and apparently, WITCH itself nowadays) are so superficial and it's the same old "be pretty, date guys, go shopping", maybe with some magic thrown in.

When I first saw pictures of it, I thought it was a bad Witch ripoff with inferior animation, so... figures. ^^;

I watched this show when for awhile in my teens. Hardly the demographic they were looking for. I'm a sucker for fantasy, faeries, and romances. Yes most of the characters were stereotypes. That always drove me nuts. And it was filled with obvious cliches.

The ideas were interesting but badly executed. And like most shows it went downhill as the series went along. The first season had more tension, the second season's villain wasn't nearly as great as they made him out to be, and the third season was sub-par.

Damn you're getting me interesting in this show again. Those faeries have cast a spell on us.

I love Winx Club… it's so entertaining. I really want to see the Winx Club movie.

By the way, anon, don't lie; the reason you watch(ed) this show is because of the female bods.
