His death was actually once of the reasons I couldn't stop watching. Not because I didn't like him (quite the opposite), but because of the depth. ^^' And the end of the series is just WONDERFUL. (but the movie isn't... it's overrated)

I actually did end up seeing the ending, and I do love the series, but for me he was the heart of the series and losing him sucked.

He was definitely a fun character. First time I cried during a TV show, and his daughter's reaction absolutely MADE that scene. Poor little Elincia! D: Though Envy's method of killing him was also absolutely awful.

Fwah. It's death sequences like his make me wish that I was the type to cry at TV shows. And yet, no matter how much I love them, I never do! Poor Hughes...
