Is it really suprising that you have more in common with the people who like the same books/series/cartoons/anime/manga/comic books, fangirl/fanboy the same characters, like the same ships... than the friends (classmates, neighbours...) you have in real life?

It sucks, I'm sorry for you, OP, but it is not a great wonder.

It's not really surprising. It actually makes a lot of sense.

I just don't want to tell anyone, 'cause it'd sound bitchy to anyone actually involved. Hence, secret.

Sometimes I feel the same way. I think it boils down to how I can find people who like what I do more easily online than IRL. There's a reason I use fandom ringtones and make fandom references in the hopes that someone will recognize 'em. *nods*

It's just hard to find a balance, is the problem. I don't want to ditch my RL friends, especially because I've had people do that to me and it sucks. So.

Okay, today I got so pissed off at my RL friends (...who piss me off on a daily basis anyway) and I couldn't stop thinking about how I have more in common with some people I don't even know from fandom than with them.

Great secret, I feel the same way too sometimes! Although other times I wonder if I would be friends with these people in IRL. I mean we sound compatible on paper, but things may not work out IRL, if I am making any sense what so ever.

I get along best with fandom friends. We have things to talk about and do and plan and watch... (flail) And when we do something outside fandom, we share a perspective and a lot of cultural similarities that make it easy to connect. Why would anyone need "normal" friends?

I'm almost 100% sure I know who this is. And, babe, they think you are. I'd suggest talking to them. We've been talking and they think you hate them, and A is freaking out. C is...well, he's just confused. And I know that we're kinda sorta friends now, and that we've lost all that stuff we had way back when, but I think it deserves another shot.
