I gotta admit that Gen 2 (and HGSS) have a soft spot in my heart, but Pokemon is always awesome and always will be awesome and I am SO EXCITED about Gen 5 I can't even ;;

Also Otderp is adorable. I didn't used to think so but it grew on me. Smugleaf is still my fave though.

Yea, I've always been excited for all the games when they came out and enjoyed playing all of them. I may slightly like hgss a bit more but still..It makes me sad when people talk about how much gen x sucks

Nope, same here. I've been playing Pokemon since gen 1. I mainly just like the original games for pure nostalgia. I also happen to adore the gen 4 games and the gen 3 games aren't that bad.

I also think gen 5 looks like it might be the best gen yet. I mean come on, Lady Professor. And both games are actually getting their own distinct setting and storyline so there's more differences then just what pokemon are available and what legendary you get, so it's not like you're buying two copies of the same game. And I love wotter okay.

i totally agree with this secret. i've been playing pokémon since 1998 and i love every [main series] game.

I like all the regions, but Hoenn is still my not-so-favorite but I love them all. :) And I am soo looking forward to gen V. Gen 4 will only be my top cuz of Lucario :)

I just recently got into Pokemon again thanks to VDex and I'm really looking forward to Generation V. I have to admit I'm more attached to the generations I grew up with, and some of the newer pokemon is pretty meh, but...some of the older ones are, too. I do think it's silly to dismiss an entire generation outright, but if someone doesn't like the "Wotter" or whatever I don't see anything wrong with that, either. People like what they like, and there's no reason to be bothered if someone's tastes don't agree with yours unless they're being dicks about it.

I have played all of them extensively, and I still don't like Hoenn very much. As I keep saying, it had a lot of good ideas it was just poorly executed. I loved all of the side games and mini-quests and whatnot, but the actual gameplay progression was painfully slow (a lot of this has to do with the fact that you don't get Fly until more than halfway through the game) and the lore was mind-numbingly boring. I couldn't play R/S/E more than once whereas I could play the others over and over until the sun explodes.

Black & White do look promising though, yes. Very much looking forward to those since D/P/Pt renewed my faith in the series.

Agreed! I'll admit that I do like some games more than others, but there hasn't been a main series game I haven't liked. I think Wotter is adorable and generation five is gonna be awesome. :D

I have to admit I have a special place for the first generation but...it's mostly nostalga. While I think some of the new designs are hideous, there are equally as many that I like.

I know, right? I think I've had an equal amount of fun with every pokemon game I've played. And I know that gen V will be just as fun as all the rest, because gamefreak has never disappointed me. The end!

Amen. While Gens 1 and 2 will always have a special spot (first video games I ever played, then the first video games I ever cared about) I think all generations were terrific and I can't wait for more.

Although I wish they'd kept Pokemon following you. Seeing my Typhlosion roar before the final gym battle in Johto...awesome.
