Tons of people take Evangelion seriously, and while directly addressing THE DEEP MEANING OF EVANGELION is bound to start wank in most cases, just including it as a subset of things that OP personally takes seriously without drawing attention to it specifically is unlikely to draw much wank. The people who don't respect Eva will roll their eyes and move on, the people who do respect Eva will feel validated but not mention it in the comments. If OP really was including Eva as a troll, they weren't using Eva to it's maximum potential trollability.
