If this person really is a friend, you should be happy to be able to spend time with her IRL.

I'd suggest to try and fix things with her: you're only making the situation more awkward by giving her the cold shoulder: it'll be a lot easier for both of you to be in a professional relationship as friends than with all of the awkwardness that comes with being former friends. Spending several hours a week together for ten months is going to be a lot more pleasant if you like eachother.

If this person is a good friend, she'll be able to get over the fact that you lied about your age and still like you for who you are/what you've done together. Give her a chance to forgive and accept you, and you might be able to keep your friend.

I... don't really agree with the above anon. I don't think you should expect this person to spend time with you IRL. You can't have done that by now, or they would know your age, and now that you are teacher and student, it would be rather odd for them to hang out with you socially. No teacher wants to show favoritism - it tends to put the other kids off, you know?

And when she finds out that she's written porn with a firmly underaged student, she'll probably be horrified by your duplicity and - if she values her job and her integrity - STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM YOU COMPLETELY.

I'm a teacher, I've mostly taught ages fourteen to sixteen, I'm a geek and a fanfic writer... and this situation is straight out of my worst nightmares. (Not that I'd ever even risk anything even remotely like writing porn with someone potentially young-sounding whose age I cannot verify and who might be from my whereabouts.)

P.S. And please, please, please, for her sake, NEVER TELL ANYONE AROUND YOU that your teacher wrote porn with her underage student (even if you were not her student at the time, technicalities blur when people panic for their children). No-one, and that means NO-ONE.

Holy crap, yes.

This situation is reminding me of an ex-friend of mine, who was a teacher... and showed some of her middle school students the fan art I drew for our slash pairings. I wasn't the teacher OR the student, and I was kind of creeped out.

And then one of her students somehow found my email address and was emailing me asking for her AIM screen name.

Yeah, teachers sharing fandom with students... not the wisest of ideas. At all.

Some of the most 'young-sounding' people on my f-list are twice my age and some of the most 'mature-sounding' are under 16. I think it's incredibly hard to judge how old someone is by how they write, especially on the internet.
