Yes, you should tell her as soon as possible, if you value her as a person at all. And then accept that she will be horrified that you've put her into a situation _that could easily cost her job_, and let her act to protect herself - ie. stay away from you in any sense except in classroom.

I'm sorry, OP, but you really brought this on yourself. Now - if you have any appreciation for this person - understand that her job, her reputation, her legal record are at stake. TELL HER. AND LET HER GO.

Thirding this advice. Tell her, try to switch classes, and stay away from her. I'm sorry for both of you.

If she knows your real name then she already knows that you're in her class, most likely.

On the chance that she doesn't get a class list until the first day--

1.) Tell her the situation
2.) Remind her that you consider her a friend and you're not about to run and tell the other teachers about her summer activities
3.) Tell her that you understand that you must never contact her again, that you cannot consider her a friend, and that you won't allude to your friendship, because now you are in a totally different situation.

Ultimately your lie, which seemed innocent at the time, put her in a precarious position. You'll be doing your friendship an honor to allow her to keep her job without fear.
