Warn her before you enter school, then see if you can both convince the administration to change your class (it might help if you claim that you had befriended each other over the internet and that your teacher is afraid she will play favorites with you on accident, leaving the rp part out, of course). If you can't change class then see if you can put your friendship on hold (if she still wants to be friends with you, if she doesn't then just let her go) until you stop being her student. (Maybe next year you won't have any classes with her, who knows?)

If it's at all possible without getting in trouble or compromising yourself and/or others, could you let us know how this plays out?

Woah, telling the administration that they're friends on the internet seems like a bad idea. It makes the teacher sound creepy, especially if you're vague when you say how exactly you met. I agree that trying to change classes is good, but only if you can do it without telling anyone you know the teacher.
