I swear, if there's a load of butthurt about Sherlock being misogynistic, I'm never gonna take feminism seriously again.

Oh yes, because it's absolutely ridiculous to be wanting a female character that's not portrayed as weak or dead, amirite? I'd rather have no women in the show at all than those poorly written characters who are caricatures of themselves.

What IS ridiculous is the whining nonsense that crawls out of the woodwork every time a programme comes on that doesn't have a strong female character.

All the the other programmes that do feature strong female leads are completely ignored.

Sherlock Holmes is a story about two men, Moriarty was his male nemesis. Get over it.

The thing about this series is that it's playing around with the traditional Sherlock Holmes story in the modern world. If Sherlock is allowed to be a texting fanatic, why not let Moriarty be a woman? You're already taking the series out of its original context. Plus as others have said, a lot of the female characters on Sherlock are treated fucking terribly. I don't think it's too much to ask to have a minor female character be more than just a future corpse.

Yes, we'll just blithely ignore all the dead male characters and all the , omg! still very much alive! female characters, as it doesn't fuel our righteous indignation.

Don't know why you're bothering. Don't you realise that every show has to have more strong female leads than male leads, no female character deaths at all, no sign of weakness in any of the female characters and definitely no men making any kind of intelligent decision independently. If it doesn't meet those standards, it's quite obviously misogynistic.
