6. Oh my god, I know their "moments" were supposed to be for the sake of humor and everything but... GODSITWASWONDERFUL.

I need to make icons. D:

19. WORD TO THE MAX. Seriously, people who are in their thirties or late twenties are where it's AT. They've got way more emotional complexity than younger characters in general too. <3

ALSO. JET AND HUGHES SKLAJH:DKAJBVFLKJAN <3333333 DILF is RIGHT. *_*

Actually it wasn't just supposed to be for humour. Not in a 'teehee it made it sound gay!' way anyway. That Simon and Nick are in love is a running joke between them, and they decided to pass it on to their characters, but more extreme than Shaun of the Dead and Spaced. So it's more like they were just having fun making their characters gay, rather than 'teehee, that sounded a bit weird!'

That's great. XD I really want to re-watch Shaun of the Dead, but since I'm terrified of zombies... :/

:)
I've never seen the making a homophobic joke, that's why I say that it's not supposed to be all 'hee we made it sound gay!'. Though I have seen them make jokes supposed to make homophobes squirm. It's more that they're just really comfortable with each other, and they're aware that they tend to act (naturally) like boyfriends (though apparently without the sex) and they're not afraid to say that they love each other. And they find it perfectly okay/fun to make their characters gay for each other. Or imply that the characters have feelings yet aren't acting on it/don't fully realise it themselves. If you ever see them around each other, you know that it's just natural for them.

Apparently also, they shared a bed when they were poor and there was only one bed. It was apparently quite small and they'd wake up wrapped around each other.

That's beyond fantastic. <333

Isn't it just? I love those two guys! (And Edgar Wright is also very very cool) I just love the story about how they used to share a flat and that. They're very close. And obviously very comfortable around each other.

*cough*

PFFFFFFFFFT.

:D hee
Go to youtube, and find the Hot Fuzz video diaries. Edgar is all going on about their pairing chemistry and stuff (heh) and Simon and Nick are all touchy and stuff, and they very obviously care about each other like, randomly interrupting to say 'how's your neck?' and stuff. And they are joking around a lot about being gay. Like, Nick's saying that he would have preferred to be lazing around spending time with his girlfriend, and Simon randomly shouts "I TOLD YOU NOT TO TALK ABOUT HER!" so even though jokes like that are 'deliberate' it's still obviously showing that it's a running joke between them, and then they're still all over each other in a very natural non jokey way as well. It's very sweet.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQgJhUrfgi0 I hadn't seen them all. oh my GOD haha! See, this is an example- they're totally not afraid of joking about them being a couple/gay. Simon: You can rest assured that no matter what Hot Fuzz throws at us, we won't quit. Hell, I can't quit.
Nick: I can't quit you.

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-05-20 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
:D Great, isn't it!

http://community.livejournal.com/fregg_love/9719.html#cutid1 read this entry. It wasn't just for humour, and this is the proof. They meant it to be a subtle romance, in the sort of way that often in movies it's more implied that eventually a couple will get to gether. Plus the other stuff in the entry is just adorable. Those guys talk like that about and to each other *all the time*. Their wife and girlfriend must be very understanding.
